Rules aren't for rockstars

Rock stars don't play by the rules. They throw furniture around hotel rooms, right? (Okay only some of them... I don't want to get hate mail from rock stars.)

So, if I'm asking you to become a Real Food Rockstar, let's get one thing clear upfront. There are no 'rules'. This online gem of course is not a diet course, or a course designed to make you eat a certain way, other than the real food way.

What is the real food way?

Being a Real Food Rockstar means ditching the stress, the guilt, the lie of 'nouveau convenience' – and instead, truly loving beautiful, natural nourishing food. It also means experiencing a deep inner peace that comes from making friends with your food choices.

It took me years to get to this point. Probably because I didn’t have a course like this to help me! I’ve been a Real Food Rockstar for seven years now (without so much as a yearning for my old favourite, Cherry Ripe). And I know the same can happen for you. This kind of real food shift is possible, and you WILL feel awesome. Why would anyone say no to that?!

My Story

My story starts with you. In fact, it’s all about you. I know people like you, because I was in your shoes once.

Food was something that just sustained me throughout the day (or so I thought). I definitely hadn’t worked out how much food could change my health, mind, and therefore my life. All I knew that food was comfort, shame, guilt and confusion all at once and I wondered whether I’d ever feel happy about food in a relaxed way - from how I shopped to what I knew to what I ate. When I worked this out much later on, my purpose shifted dramatically – to want to empower other people’s lives and to give people the resources I wished I’d had!

The turning point

Before you came into my story, I was always getting sick with tonsillitis. I remember it well. It was about 14 years ago that I was on my fourth round of antibiotics in a row trying to kill a persistent bug. Things were absolutely terrible and I was spitting into a bowl by my bed because I couldn’t bear to swallow, it was that painful.

So I decided to see a naturopath on advice of a friend, and she put me on a three-day fast of broth, well cooked brown rice and well cooked carrots, along with two simple immune supplements. I was skeptical. But 48-hours later, I was cured. Incredible.

Now that I continue to work from the inside out to strengthen my immunity, I haven’t had tonsillitis since – bar one mild case. Since then - as we all do over the years - I’ve had a couple of health challenges, and knowing the power of food as a factor for healing has been invaluable.

To make real food education accessible to everyone, I started to write a blog - that was nearly 8 years ago, now. This blog grew and grew, and gave birth to our amazing Low Tox community. Then a series of empowering courses kicked in, all designed to support you at home in your own time.

Over to you

At the heart of this story, I want to ensure that people who put their hand up for a blissful low tox life are well supported before they set out on this journey. I’m talking about being equipped with facts, unbiased research, delicious inspiration and confidence.

So, if you are at the start of this journey, it’s not all going to be easy. There’s mental work to be done, as well as product swaps, label-detective-skills to learn, the powers of persuasion required to bring our families on the real food train, and a serious lens shift – to see the bigger picture behind the current food system.

Will it be worth it? You bet. Is it a delicious journey where you will arrive at a point where you feel free, and no longer trapped by food? Absolutely YES.

So, my story starts and ends with you. Looking back, I had to go through what you are probably feeling right now; to discover first-hand how food can change lives. Both mine and yours, and our communities far beyond. I’m talking about societies at large, and our planet.

It may be a very big picture to end this story on, but it is one that has changed my life for the better – and hopefully it will change yours too. From little things, big things can definitely grow.

Okay, I'm in - now what?

This is where I break the course down for you even further, so you know what to expect. Given time is such an acute factor in most people’s lives, let’s frame everything around you and your time.

Here's how it works:

  • 17 topics with course reading, videos and further resources.

  • Each topic is about a 15 minute read and, while I do send you an email every day for the 17 topics, you actually have the WHOLE COURSE available from the moment you click to join us. This allows you access to your priorities, wherever you want to start first. Our daily email is just a guide if you want to follow it that way or use them as motivation to keep it all up!

  • You’re set a simple daily challenge. You may want to share your thoughts, feelings and successes or continuing challenges in the Low Tox Club - use the village as much or as little as you like!

  • Kick back and listen to inspired interviews every second day. They’re around 20 minutes in length and transcripts are available for people who have a poor internet connection, or who have a hearing impairment.

  • Pick and mix from a range of ongoing tools, exercises and recipes which are there to support you as you uncover various topics throughout the course. In your time, your way.


What happens after the course?

You continue in the group as a part of the Real Food Rockstars Alumni community. This is your family for life when it comes to getting support and chatting about real food, your lifestyle, or any challenges you may face. Powerful stuff that never ends.

The course website either closes after 60 days if you chose “basic rockstar” or you continue your access with “lifetime rockstar” (has a nice ring to it don’t you think?) and receive 2 additional unlocked topics - food for beautiful skin AND lunch ideas for busy people.
