Wellness is the new skinniness

There’s something wonderful about today’s growing conversations around health, healing and weight loss.

Less talk about dress sizes

Less talk about calories

Less talk about low fat

Less talk about being Size 2

Less talk about losing X pounds in a week

Less talk about miracle potions and powders

Less talk of deprivation

Less talk about will power, weakness and giving into temptation

What’s replacing it all?

A conversation about wellness.

How do you feel?

How can you adopt more fresh foods?

What foods work for you and your family?

What makes you feel well?

What integrative care should you be getting, to address the root cause of your feeling unwell?

What gives you energy?

What can you replace in your current diet with something nourishing and delicious?

What can you do you relax more and slow down a little?

What exercise makes you happiest? Running? Coastal walk? Gardening?

What can you grow at home?

How can we teach our kids?

How can I help you move from products to produce?

wellness quote

The conversation around wellness is an exciting one to have, compared to the one about weight loss. One is a positive conversation full of the possibilities of what one ‘can’ do and really gets to the bottom of one’s troubles, if troubles exist. The other is a negative conversation with blame, guilt and what one can’t do moving forward.  Our wellness is in our hands, because we must tune in and feel what’s really going on. We can be wise about what works for us, ignoring marketing messages, health associations and governing bodies, funded by big companies trying often to push those messages onto us, however well meaning it might be.

We’re in the driver seat of our wellness and there’s plenty of wonderful inspiration to guide us.

It’s a much better conversation to have, don’t you think? Have you noticed the same shift?

I’d love to hear your thoughts and experience.

Real Food. Low Tox. Happy People.
