Well, we are 1 day away from Food Revolution Day, 2015. This FRIDAY MAY 15 is the day. I have been a Food Revolution Ambassador for 4 years and it is with great pleasure that I take things online this year – because it means we can all celebrate together!
What do you have to do?
On the Friday May 15th, post pics of you cooking something with your kids – Could be breakky, lunch for little ones at home, after school snacks or dinner Friday night. Whatever you fancy!

What is Food Revolution Day?
It’s a Global day to celebrate cooking skills, focusing on the passing down of food education and cooking skills to our kids. It’s a coming together of people wanting to embrace the Real Food way of life – Enjoying fresh produce, getting cooking, those with kids teaching their kids to cook and getting them involved.
It’s Jamie Oliver’s brain child as a response to the Global obesity crisis and the loss of cooking skills since the dawn of ‘convenience foods’. We must teach our kids that REAL food, NOT fake food is the way forward. We MUST make it the norm. We must make it exciting for them. We must, and we can!

What is your favourite thing to cook with your kids?
The Food Revolution Day team and Jamie have shared an idea to get kids loving all the colours of the rainbow with the squish it sandwich. Check it out here. You could replace bread with lettuce cups, cabbage leaves, mushrooms or coconut wraps, if you don’t / can’t eat bread. I love lettuce cups or even rice paper rolls for an interactive cooking activity with the kids.
Lastly – Sign the petition. This is crucial. Jamie is petitioning to all G20 nations to bring in mandatory cooking and fresh food education to our kids. Amazing.
