20 great meat-based batch cooking recipes

So some of us have a bit more time on our hands at the moment with lockdowns, and others of us are just building up a bit of a stock of nourishing meals to ensure that if a lockdown is imposed, we’re good to go and it’s not stressful. It’s important to remember that there will be enough for everyone if we don’t stock up TOO much though. I’ve built our fridge/pantry up to about 2 weeks worth of pantry/produce staples and we’re shopping fresh as normal from the produce section of our small business grocer and butcher where we can while we’re not in full lockdown.

We’ve got so many recipes of mine on the site that you might not have discovered yet, that are perfect for freezing and perfect for budget savings, so we thought we’d compile a bit of a list of those and some of our favourite other recipe creators, to give you a creative boost.

If cooking is something you usually find stressful, here’s an opportunity to connect to the gratitude of GETTING to cook; of having food to nourish your family with and of connecting to your role as a provider of nourishment for yourself and your family. It’s an act of love and a privilege so to make it more relaxing, do NOT listen to alarming news reports, connect to the gratitude to be found, put on a favourite album, pour a nice glass or water or wine and take deep breaths if you feel like tensing up. If you’re not skilled at having multiple things on the go on your hot plates, take the stress down by turning the temperature down and giving yourself more time.

Happy cooking and feel free to share recipes that you love to prep and stock in your freezer, in the comments below.
